TeraRanger Tower 8 is a simultaneous, multi-axis scanner, capable of replacing traditional laser lidar scanners in some applications. Totally silent, zero moving parts, greater efficiency and reliability, the Tower is capable of Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) and collision avoidance on fast-moving ground and airborne robots. Calibrated distance data is streamed from a USB or UART port as an array of synchronized distances, in millimeters.

TeraRanger Tower is the NEW solution for Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) and collision avoidance on fast moving ground and airborne robots. With fast refresh rates, zero moving parts and 100% eye-safety it provides an interesting and lightweight ROS compatible alternative to traditional laser lidar scanners but with lower CPU/processing requirments. TeraRanger Tower works with 1 to 8 sensors and is plug and play. Calibrated distance data is streamed from a USB or UART port as an array of synchronized distances, in millimeters.
